初期的萬佛聖城，一切都很簡陋。上人在這裡與出家弟子們共用午齋。小齋堂裡有個燒木材的暖爐，是整個聖城唯一的熱源。每個人用齋時都感到很暖和。

At the beginning, everything was simple and unadorned. Here, Bhikshu and Bhikshuni disciples join with the Master for the one meal of the day. The dining hall’s wood-burning stove provided the only source of heat on the grounds of the City. Everyone warmed up during lunch.
