北加州中文學校聯合會2000年學術比賽，於5月7日星期日在Cupertino的MonteVistaHighSchool舉行，本城女校高三鄧毓庭得作文A組第1名（作文題目為「談讀書」），六年級朱雲帆得翻譯B組第3名。男校六年級唐宇志得翻譯B組第2名，七年級曾茂源得閱讀B組第3名。
本校創辦人宣公上人生前特別注重中、英文課程及翻譯工作，並指導學校加強語文教育。這次學生得獎，不負上人期望，全校深感欣慰。

The United Association of Northern California Chinese Schools Year 2000 academic bowl took place on Sunday, March 7, at Cupertino's Monte Vista High School. From the Girls School of the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas, senior Yvonne Teng won first place in Composition in Division A (title of composition: On Studying) and sixth grader Nancy Chu received third place in Translation in Division B. From the Boys School, sixth grader Jaeger Tang received second place in Translation in Division B, and seventh grader Tom Tseng received third place in Reading in Division B.
The founder of our schools, the late Venerable Master Hsuan Hua, paid particular atten- tion to Chinese and English curriculum and translation work during his lifetime. He had in- structed the schools to emphasize language education. Award winners did not disappoint the Venerable Master with their outstanding performance. Our schools are most proud of these young talents.
