Does everybody know it? Know its problems?

Sutra:
The Well-Gone One has perfected all the powers.
Adorned with meritorious virtues, he appears in the world.
All living beings are completely tamed and subdued.
This Dharma is what Courageous Strength
has understood and attained.
The Buddha in the past cultivated an ocean of great compassion,
His thoughts ever mindful of those in the world.
Thus his spiritual penetrations know no bounds.
Increasing Essence and Energy is able to see this.
Commentary:
The Well-Gone One has perfected all the powers. "Well-Gone One" is one of the ten titles of the Buddha. All the powers refers to the Buddha's Ten Powers, mentioned before. The Buddha has cultivated all the powers to perfection.
Adorned with meritorious virtues, he appears in the world. Adorned with all the meritorious virtues he has accomplished, the Buddha appears in the world of sentient beings.
All living beings are completely tamed and
subdued. The obstinate beings of the World are difficult to tame and subdue. You may try to teach them wholesome Dharmas, using all kinds of expedient skill-in-means to teach them, whether speaking to them directly or hinting indirectly, yet they won't believe you. When they encounter unwholesome, unclean, perverse conditions, they pursue them like crazy. It's like last night when you went to listen to the wild talk of that person with crazy wisdom. Living beings may be hard to subdue, yet the Buddha can subduethem. They may be hard to teach, but the Buddha manages to teach them.
This Dharma, this liberation door,
is what the Crop-Ruling Spirit named
Courageous and Healthy Physical
Strength has understood and attained. The Buddha in the past cultivated an ocean of great compassion. The Buddha applied effort in the cultivation of the Dharma door of great kindness and compassion.
His thoughts ever mindful of those in the world. His every thought is to save beings from suffering and cause them to attain happiness.
Thus his spiritual penetrations know no bounds. In order to teach and transform obstinate and difficult living beings, one must possess all kinds of spiritual powers and expedient means. Thus the Buddha's spiritual penetrations are boundless.
Increasing Essence and Energy is able to see this. This kind of state and liberation door is what the Crop-Ruling Spirit Increasing Essence and Energy is able to understand.
Are there any questions?
[Question inaudible]. If he wants to learn, tell him to follow them in doing "Three Steps One Bow." Tell him to come here and investigate with us.
Sutra:
The Buddha constantly manifests everywhere in the world.
None of his expedient devices are applied in vain.
He entirely purifies living beings' delusions and afflictions.
This is the liberation of the Spirit Universally Producing.
Commentary:
The Buddha constantly manifests everywhere in the world. The Buddha is not present anywhere, yet there is nowhere he is not present. The Buddha pervades all places in the world. Why can't all living beings see the Buddha? If the Buddha is everywhere in the world, beings should all be able to see him. But living beings are covered over by their delusions and afflictions. Delusions cover them just as clouds cover the sun. Although the sun is there, the clouds block it from view. Likewise, although the Buddha is present everywhere, living beings cannot see him because they are obstructed by their own ignorance, delusions, karma, and suffering. Even so, the Buddha constantly appears before living beings. Although beings cannot see him, the Buddha can always see them.
None of his expedient devices are applied in vain. The Buddha uses all manner of expedient methods to teach and transform living beings, leading them to bring forth the resolve for Bodhi and accomplish Buddhahood.
He entirely purifies living beings' delusions and afflictions. The Buddha dispels the clouds covering living beings, so that the sun can shine forth. When all delusions and afflictions are gone, wisdom comes forth.
This is the liberation of the Spirit Universally Producing. This kind of state is the liberation door understood by the Crop-Ruling Spirit named Universally Producing Roots and Fruits.
Sutra:
The Buddha is an ocean of great wisdom in the world,
Emitting pure radiance that reaches all places,
Causing all to produce tremendous faith and understanding.
Adorned Cowl was able to understand and enter this.
Commentary:
The Buddha is an ocean of great wisdom in the world. The Buddha is the wisest and most intelligent living being in the world. The Buddha is an enlightened one among living beings. He possesses the highest understanding. There is nothing he does not know or understand. He is the Greatly Enlightened One. Not only is the Buddha an ocean of great wisdom, the Dharma is also an ocean of great wisdom, and so is the Sangha. The Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha are all oceans of great wisdom in the world. They are also lamps of inexhaustible brightness for the world.
So the text says: Emitting pure radiance that reaches all places. The Buddha, an ocean of great wisdom, emits the pure light of great wisdom which pervades all places. The Buddha emits a pure light that shines upon the waters of all living beings' minds. The Buddha's light shines into beings" hearts, causing them to bring forth the resolve for Bodhi and realize the unsurpassed Way.
The pure wisdom light emitted by the Buddha universally shines upon living beings' hearts,
causing them all to produce tremendous, vast minds of
faith and understanding. Beings who have attained the Buddha's wisdom light give rise to this kind of vast and inconceivable faith and understanding.
Adorned Cowl was able to understand and enter this. This kind of state and principle, this kind of liberation door, is what the Crop-Ruling Spirit named Wonderfully Adorned Circular Cowl has awakened to and understood.
Sutra:
The Thus Come One beholds the world
and gives rise to compassion.
Appearing for the sake of bringing benefit to living beings,
He shows them the supreme path of tranquility and bliss.
This is the liberation of the Spirit Pure Flowers.
Commentary:
Guo Hu, you explain the next four lines of verse.
[Guo Hu: The Thus Come One beholds the world and gives rise to compassion. Some people talk about Thus Come One Buddha. Actually, the Thus Come One is just the Buddha, and the Buddha is just the Thus Come One. Here, the Thus Come One refers to Shakyamuni Buddha. Seeing how miserable the living beings of the world were, experiencing suffering in everything they do, he brought forth a heart of compassion and wished to relieve their suffering and give them happiness.
Appearing for the sake of bringing benefit to living beings and giving them the opportunity to obtain ultimate happiness, the Buddha comes into the world.
He shows them the supreme path of tranquility and bliss. The Buddha sees that living beings have 84,000 kinds of suffering, so he leads them onto the supreme path of tranquility and bliss. He teaches them how to make their minds serene and peaceful. This sublime path is one by which the Buddhas are brought to purity in the Triple Realm, and by which the Sangha—those who have left the home-life—are transformed to purity.
This is the liberation of the Spirit Pure Flowers. This is the state of the Buddha that he understands. This is his liberation door.]
Ask everyone whether his explanation was correct. Is it completely correct? Does everyone know its problems? How do you explain the word 'tranquility'? [Guo Yi: ...] Guo Yi, you aren't living up to your name as the 'Dictionary Dharma Master.' Tranquility means that what living beings do leads them to enlightenment. Tranquility refers to being still and quiet inside. It sometimes means plain and bland. Bliss refers to happiness and the absence of affliction. Alright, if no one else has any objections, I don't have any, either.
Sutra:
The pure practices cultivated by the Well-Gone One
He fully proclaimed from beneath the Bodhi tree.
Such teaching and transforming filled the ten directions.
The Spirit Wonderful Fragrance was able
to hear and accept this.
Commentary:
The pure practices cultivated by the Well-Gone One. Well-Gone One is another one of the titles of the Buddha. The pure practices cultivated by the Buddha in the past involved staying away from all evil and carrying out all good deeds. In other words, he stayed away from all unwholesome dharmas and cultivated all wholesome dharmas. All unwholesome dharmas are defiled dharmas, and all wholesome dharmas are pure dharmas.
He fully proclaimed from beneath the Bodhi tree. The Buddha sat beneath the Bodhi tree, saw a star one night and awakened to the Way. Thereupon he exclaimed, "How strange! All living beings possess the wisdom and virtuous characteristics of the Thus Come One. It is only because of false thinking and attachments that they cannot realize them." It is clear from this that false thinking and attachments are great obstacles to the cultivation of the Way. If we had no false thinking or attachments, we would very quickly realize unsurpassed, proper and equal right enlightenment. Why haven't we realized it yet? Just because our attachments are too great, and our false thoughts are too numerous.
After the Buddha attained the Way beneath the Bodhi tree, he proclaimed the Great Flower Adornment Sutra, but those of the Two Vehicles were such that:
They had eyes, but could not see Nishyanda Buddha.
They had ears, but could not hear the Perfect Sudden Teaching.
The Buddha spoke the Great Flower Adornment Dharma and all the other Sutras, using such teachings to teach and transform all the living beings throughout the ten directions. Thus the text says:
Such teaching and transforming filled the ten directions. The living beings of the ten directions were all taken across.
The Spirit Wonderful Fragrance was able to hear and accept this. The Crop-Ruling Spirit named Accomplishing Wonderful Fragrance was able to gain insight into this liberation door. He heard and was able to accept this Dharma door of liberation.
