(Announcement) Mr. Yu Jeng-jau, Chairman of Taiwan Junior Chamber of Commerce, accompanied by Mrs. John Tsu, visited the Venerable Master Hsuan Hua before noon at the Head Administration Office of the Dharma Realm Buddhist Association at Burlingame.
Mr. Yu said that Mr. Lin Yang-gang, the Head of the Judicial Yuan of Taiwan, is a devoted Buddhist whose character is generous and who is not greedy. He requested the Venerable Master to give Mr. Lin his blessings, hoping that he can be elected as the next president. He also requested instructions and guidelines as a leader for Mr. Lin. Venerable Master Hua replied that Mr. Lin should keep the benefits of the people in mind, and work hard; he further sent his best wishes for victory in the coming election.
Master Hua recalled with a sigh how the ancient sages and kings governed their country with humaness, were incorruptible, pure and loved their people. Renouncing their personal enjoyment, they never treated the country as their own private property. The ancients set the example for the people who regulate the government. When asked about the unification of China's two nations: Taiwan and the mainland, the Venerable Master Hsuan Hua responded that China will be one of the most powerful countries in the world, and by no means can fail to unite. |
