(Announcement) On April 26, over fifty students and teachers from the Ukiah Junior Academy, which is run by Seventh-Day Adventists, were led by Elder Mel Brass to visit the Sagely City of Ten Thousand Buddhas. After taking a tour of the Reception Center, the Hall of Ten Thousand Buddhas, and the boys' and girls' schools from outside, they participated in an enthusiastic discussion in Wonderful Words Hall. The Seventh-Day Adventists advocate vegetarianism, are industrious workers, lead disciplined lives, and place great importance on education. Saturday is their holy day of worship. Convinced that doomsday is near, they hope more people will believe in Jesus and be born in Heaven. The students of Ukiah Junior Academy raised many questions regarding the ceremonies, teachings, and daily lifestyle of Buddhists. For example:

Question: Which day is your holy day?
Answer: "Everyday we have morning recitation at four o'clock in the morning, bowing to the Buddhas at five, meditation at six, Sutra recitation at seven, and at eight we begin our work or teaching. At eleven we have the Meal Offering Ceremony. In the afternoon, we have the Great Compassion Repentance at one o'clock, the evening recitation at six-thirty, and then a Sutra lecture at seven-thirty. Every day is our holy day."

The Honored Chancellor Richard Yang of the Dharma Realm Buddhist University gave a humorous account of his own pursuit of truth, of how as a Methodist he came to work in a Buddhist monastery. Then a Taiwanese student from the boys' school and a Muslim student of Pakistan from the girls' school related their experience of studying of Developing Virtue Secondary School at the Sagely City of Ten Thousand Buddhas.
