【臺北訊】一月十一日下午三時，宣公上人在記者會說明這次訪臺灣的三個目的：第一，是為臺灣的眾生送福來；第二，是聘請梁肅戎資政為法界佛教大學董事會主席；第三，勸告臺灣住眾要本著人道做人，真正愛國、愛家、愛身，照顧鰥寡孤獨，政治人物不要打架，希望住寶島的人，都能珍惜這塊福地，不要「有福不會享，沒事找事幹。」
上人在記者會再度提及「現在的臺灣，像南宋臨安時期，大家勾心鬥角，偏安小地方，是不祥之兆。」說者用心沈痛，聽者了悟有幾人呢？

(Taipei) On January 11th, in a press conference at 3:00 p.m., the Venerable Master Hua explained that he had three reasons for visiting Taiwan this time: First, to bring blessings to the living beings in Taiwan; second, to request Government Advisor Su-rung Liang to accept the position of Chairman of the Board of Dharma Realm Buddhist University; and third, to exhort all the residents of Taiwan to follow the way of humaneness, truly cherish the country, the family, and oneself, and take care of widows, widowers, orphans, and solitary. Furthermore, politicians should not fight, and everyone should cherish the blessed land of Taiwan, and not "have blessings but not know how to enjoy them, or create work out of boredom."
The Venerable Master Hua also mentioned at the press conference that "Present-day Taiwan is just like Ling-an in the Southern Sung Dynasty, with everyone scheming and contending, and the political authority confined to a small place. This is an inauspicious omen." This remark was spoken with a mind of desperation, but how many people understood?
