For the sake of peace and stability in the United States and in the world, Venerable Abbot Hsuan Hua has, at this vital moment of Presidential election, compassionately instructed the assembly at City of Ten Thousand Buddhas and at all the branch monasteries of Dharma Realm Buddhist Association, to recite the Great Compassion Mantra and bow the repentance every day. The merit and virtue of the recitation is to be transferred to the successful resolution of this most important issue.
The Venerable Abbot has further instructed his disciples, "Left-home people don't get involved in politics, but at the same time, we can't simply stand by as spectators, watching idly with our hands folded, as witness our country rolls faster downhill with each passing day. We must cultivate to enhance the blessings of the nation and the welfare of the people, and to assist the best candidate to win the election. He who truly practices the six great principles of not fighting, not being greedy, not seeking, not being selfish, not seeking personal benefit, and not lying, is the one who deserves to lead the United States."
All disciples at the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas are following the instructions and will recite from Sept. 30th, until election day. Every morning, the true words are sincerely recited in the Buddha Hall to pray for the blessings of the nation and for the assumption of leadership by the most capable person.
