In Commemoration of the Arrival of 
the Delegation from Hoeh Beng Temple

      Last year I led a delegation to visit Malaysia in order to investigate the Buddha's teachings with good believers. This year Upasaka Ng Hung Pao has returned with a delegation to bow at the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas. This amply reflects their piety for the Dharma, their sincerity to seek the Dharma, their earnestness to protect the Dharma, their mindful ness to propagate the Dharma. Disregarding time and money, forgetting about long wearisome traveling, un-afraid of the cold--this type of spirit pleases heaven and earth and delights a11 the Buddhas. The Bodhisattva with his thousand eyes can illumine and see, with his thousand ears can hear from afar. He wilt respond to the requests of these worthy believers, so that no wish is left unfulfilled.

      I am a common person, however, I've been moved by their pious devotion. Therefore I have offered you the complete magical, wonderful, great Dharma of Kuan Yin Bodhisattva, the secret language of the Forty-two Hands and Eyes--! have transmitted it all to you. This is the secret among the secret Dharmas, the mysterious within the mysterious writings. It is what the Buddhas of the three periods of time are mindful and protective of. I hope you try your best.

A verse says:

You have organized a delegation to bow

to the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas.

The Summit of Wonderful Enlightenment Mountain

emits great brightness.

Thus Come Ones of the ten directions

have all gathered together.

Those worthy of offerings of the

three periods of time are delighted.

Good believing men and women

all advance with vigor.

Elder men and women and youngsters

alike are blessed.

The Dharma realm is such--let us ascend

to the other shore.

I wish that all of you would bring forth
