一九六九年元月五日，上人最早的美國弟子易象乾與劉瑤仙兩位居士在舊金山佛教講堂舉行佛教婚禮。上人親為主婚之外，又親書「佛教儀式婚禮香讚」、「佛教儀式婚禮讚」及法器打法。
筵席上上人指示以後弟子們結婚時亦可照用。事隔多年，本刊徵得易氏夫婦同意特此刊出，以廣流傳。 |

Editor’s Note:
On January 5, 1969, the Venerable Mater’s two earliest lay disciples,
Ron Epstein and Yao Hsien Liu held their Buddhist wedding ceremony
in the Buddhist Lecture Hall in San Francisco. The Venerable Master was the host of this wedding. Besides authoring a personal note of congratulations, the Venerable Master also composed the “Incense Chant for a Buddhist Wedding Ceremony’ and “The Buddhist Wedding Sing” and instructions for playing Dharma instruments.
During the banquet, the Venerable Master pointed out that these pieces may be circulated and used during other disciples’ nuptials. Although it has been many years since their matrimony, Vajra Bodhi Sea has now obtained the Epsteins’ permission to publish these compositions to share with our readers. |

香爇玉爐髮結勝緣
心心相印照坤乾
金母會瑶仙一念真虔
福壽永綿綿
南無香雲蓋菩薩摩訶薩

The Incense Chant for a Buddhist Wedding Ceremony
Incense burns in the jade Censer,
Their hair is braided together in the highest condition.
Mind to mind mutually reflects
The Receptive and the Creative,
The Jasper Immortals (Yao Hsien) assemble
With the Golden Mother.
One single thought of real devotion,
There is happiness and ling life forever!

入世出世度大千
喜捨慈悲功德聚
信解行證覺性圓
諸上善人為眷屬
同心敬愛結良緣
願祝百歲常伴侶
如意吉祥萬萬年

Buddhist Wedding Song
The dharmas by which the Buddha transforms
the world are boundless.
In the world or out of the world
he crosses-over great trichiliocosms.
Joy, even-mindedness, friendliness,
compassion, and merits accumulated,
He courses in faith and wisdom
bearing testimony to the Perfection
of the Enlightenment Essence.
All superior people of good
will act as His retinue.
Together in their hearts through respectful love
they tie together Conditions for a harmonious union.
May they be constant companions for a hundred years!
May their fortune be just as they wish
for myriads and myriads
Of years!
