六榕绯桃瑞应

丙戌一百有七岁。二次世界大战停。各省复员工作。南华仍开戒。讲经。政府通令全国。各寺庙诵经。超度战争忠魂。公应穗官绅邀请主法设坛于净慧寺。而时在九月十七日。寺内绯桃着花。重台璀璨得未曾有。十余万人。

宣化偈曰：

有情无情皆随喜。善人恶人尽参观。
绯桃九月放花蕊。龙华三会愿相逢。

Recording the auspicious portent of peach trees blossoming at Liu Jung²⁶ Monastery

The Master was one-hundred-and-seven in 1946; World War II had ended, and provincial officials returned to work. The Master transmitted the precepts at Nan Hua Monastery and explained the sutras as usual. The government requested that monasteries throughout the nation recite sutras for the welfare of the spirits of patriotic war victims. The Master responded to an invitation by Canton public officials to host the Dharma and set up an altar at Ching Hui (Pure Wisdom) Monastery. At that time, on the seventeenth day of the ninth lunar month, the peach trees inside the monastery compound prolifically blossomed with lustrous flowers. Everyone was surprised, and over a hundred thousand people came to see the rare occurrence.

The gatha says:
Those with sentience and those without joyously followed along.
People, both good and evil, came to investigate.
The peach trees were blooming out of season with clusters of buds and flowers;
Everyone vowed to meet each other in the Dragon Flower' s three assemblies²⁷
